Book Review Evolve like a Butterfly: A Metamorphic Approach to Leadership
Leaders are made, not born – you don’t carry your leadership ability from your mother’s womb. However, some people indeed do naturally have traits that make them suitable for leadership, but there is no reason others cannot be trained to achieve the same results. Leadership is not about having a bold voice or high confidence. It is certainly not about making people work for you or forcing them to respect you. Then what is leadership? Leadership is about taking an ethical path to work for a cause, which is good for the betterment of the society. Whether you are leading your own business, a big corporate boardroom or the parliament, it is important to understand that you, as a Leader are responsible to serve individuals who rely on your leadership to make their lives better. It’s a huge responsibility you carry as a leader. This book talks about the traits you will need to reach the highest potential and become an ethical leader who will be known for centuries for his/her leadership. Leadership is not difficult but not easy either. As you go through your journey of leadership, you will face lots of questions. But the answers to those questions are all around us, and it is up to us to uncover them. This book gives you the vision to look for those clues by using butterfly metaphor to the leadership development. Journey with me as I define a new leadership development framework that enables individuals to unleash the hidden potential as a leader, in their professional as well as personal lives. No matter what stage of career or life you are at right now, this book will help you to get on the right path to becoming a true leader. Purchase on Amazon
Book Review Evolve Like A Butterfly – A Metamorphic Approach to Leadership by Mayur Ramgir
Evolve Like A Butterfly – A Metamorphic Approach to Leadership by Mayur Ramgir grabbed my attention in the dedication, which rarely happens, however our beliefs are the same “I believe leaders are created and not born.” “Those individuals that we refer to as “Born Leaders” are, in actuality, the ones who follow leadership development path rigorously.”
I personally have dug deep into leadership books over the last year and I have learn so much, in return my businesses are running smoother and I have learned new skills in self development.
Evolve Like A Butterfly – A Metamorphic Approach to Leadership discuss the different stages of business and leadership. Helping its readers to learn to adapt and adopt different leadership styles this is part of the Metamorphic Approach to Leadership, as it aligns with the life cycle of a leader.
As a small business marketer I have learned over the years that visuals are so important, they help keep the readers attention and they are a added plus as you can use them in your social media marketing. Mayur Ramgir has some powerful and motivational graphics & images about success and leadership worked into his book.
Opening quote “Evolve like a butterfly Buzz Like a fly No purpose is too small No dreams are too high “ Dr. Debalina Sarkar
I was very impressed with the Leadership Development Framework, it’s a blueprint for individual to follow to become a global leader. I think this concept is very important and true for businesses with different cultures and socioeconomic background. This style of framework will help and relate to all readers no matter the stage of leadership you might need improvement, teaching the individual team work and how to work with the world at large.
Mr Ramgir has the framework broken down into 4 stages:
Stage #1 A leader is Born, Stage #2 Feeding Stage, Stage #3 The Transition Stage, & Stage #4 The Reporductive Stage.
Another stand out for the reader with Evolve Like A Butterfly is the author starts each chapter with a quote and is able to keep the reference of evolving going through out the book. For example “The path to leadership also requires a sort of metamorphosis that is roughly analogous to a caterpillar breaking out of its shell in much the same way leaders emerge after leaning from the environment around them”
My personal favorite chapter is the Hatching Into the Real World. It starts with a Mark Twain Quote “The secret of getting ahead is getting started. The secret to getting started is breaking your complex, overwhelming tasks into small manageable tasks, then start on the first one.” This quote and this chapter is an important one for your real-life business development.
This book should be on all budding leaders’ bookshelves. Evolve like a Butterfly: A Metamorphic Approach to Leadership is a reference guide for leaders. You will get advice, along with self-development which is needed for a good leader. Evolving with the reader managing the ups and downs of different issues leaders face day to day.
