A Portrait of My Father, by George W. Bush is a love story. I quote from George W. Bush; “This is a love story, a personal portrait of the extraordinary man who I am blessed to call my Dad.” Of Course, George W. Bush, the 43rd President of the United States is writing about his father, George H.W. Bush, the 41st President of the United States.

George H.W. Bush, delayed college against his Father’s wishes to pilot torpedo bombers in the Navy during World War II. He returned home from the war, and married Barbara Pierce, his war time sweetheart. He won military medals and a Yale degree. Before he changed his path in life to public service, he had made a name for himself in the oil industry.

George H.W. Bush, was a diplomat, CIA director and Ronald Reagan’s Vice President. President George H.W. Bush, was one of the most significant American diplomats of the twentieth century. He also was one of the most loved politicians in the twenty first century. George W. Bush provides insights into lessons learned by a son. The lessons were learned by watching his father that he loved very much.

A Portrait of My Father is a very well written book. For a President of the United States to write a book about his father who also was a President of the United States is pretty amazing. It is written with a great deal of love and respect. Great read
