Debbie Macomber, is the author of the books in the Cedar Cove Series and the author of the script of the television series on Hallmark Channel, Cedar Cove. Recipes in her cookbook are from Cedar Cove households by many of her Cedar cove characters. Macomber also shares 150 of her treasured family recipes.

On the front flap of the book jacket on, Debbie Macomber’s Cedar Cove Cookbook is a note written from Debbie Macomber. I quote, “I believe food is central to the important relationships in our lives, and a good dinner sustains us in more than obvious ways. Preparing and serving a meal is probably the ultimate expression of hospitality and friendship, comfort and love.” Debbie Macomber’s Cedar Cove Cookbook has recipes for breakfast, lunch, tea, appetizers, dinner, and desserts. Macomber also includes in her book recipes for Easter, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Debbie Macomber attributes her Mother in the cookbook for teaching her how to cook. Again, I quote, “She was a gifted cook who never let a recipe get in the way of being creative; not surprisingly, working in the kitchen and enjoying it is a part of my family heritage.” Macomber has collected recipes all of her life. Cooking and Preparing meals and sharing them with family and friends is a popular part of her Cedar Cove Series. Macomber says of her readers, “While sharing food is a social activity, sharing recipes can bind us with others, too with friends and perhaps especially with our families. It’s about forming and nurturing traditions, which help us create a sense of continuity from one generation to the next.”

Debbie Macomber’s Cedar Cove books are all titles after actual addresses in her Cedar Cove Village. Some of the titles are 92 Pacific Boulevard, 3 Sandpiper Way, 74 Seaside Avenue, 6 Rainer Drive, and 16 Lighthouse Road. Cedar Cove is in all actuality Port Orchard, Washington.

Personally, I love the works of Debbie Macomber. I have personally been to Port Orchard (Cedar Cove) and seen all the homes she centers her books on. I have seen and shopped in Macomber’s Good Yarn Shop and had tea in her tea room. Macomber’s children who are now grown adults run her shops. Without a doubt, in my opinion, Debbie Macomber’s Cedar Cove Cookbook is the best cookbook on the market. It is a charming read.
