Ed Hume is a recognized master of gardening not only just in the northwest but also nationwide. He has a television show Gardening in America, and a popular radio show called Ask an Expert. He has received many awards, including the Garden Communicators Award. He has also been inducted into the Garden Writers Association Hall of Fame. He is an honorary member of the Master Gardeners and a certified Professional Horticulturist. In 1977, he founded Ed Hume Seeds, a gardening supply company in the Pacific Northwest.
Hume’s book, Gardening with Ed Hume, teaches the reader how to create a colorful garden using perennials, annuals and bulbs. Hume gives instructions on how to grow a thick and health lawn. The book has information on how to become a rose gardener and how to find the right ground covers for every situation.
I personally think this book in invaluable. I moved from California to Idaho and found how different gardening is in the Northwest. If you love to Garden or want to learn how to Garden, this book is a must read!
