Jan Karon, author of Jan Karon’s Cookbook and Kitchen Reader, also wrote the much loved Mitford Series. The series included, At Home in Mitford, A Light In The Window, These High Green Hills, Out to Canaan and A New Song. In each one of her books in the Mitford series there are amazing cooks. Karon has put together a recipe book of all the gathered recipes in her series plus patches of grace and pictures. Karon also has written several other books for all ages and children’s books.
In the introduction of Karon’s cookbook, she writes; “May God tenderly bless the cook who invests love and energy to prepare these favorite Mitford dishes, and may His gracious favor rest upon each and every one with whom they are enjoyed. Draw close. Hold Hands. Life is short. God is good.” Karon brings out all the favorite characters in her books with the same gracious grace I quoted from her book.
Once you read each book of the Mitford Series you are starving! A great deal of Karon’s novels center around good food, the ambiance of the kitchen table and good fellowship. It is with great delight that I have added this book to my cookbook library. Great asset to have in your kitchen!
