Rebecca Kemp Brent is a freelance writer, educator and designer specializing in creative ways. Other books Kemp has written are Fill in the Blanks with Machine Embroidery and Machine Embroidery Wild and Wacky. Brent began her career as a sewing educator. Since 2001 Brent has published over 150 articles in such national publications as Creative Machine Embroidery, Sew News, Sewing Savvy and Quilting and Quilting and Embroidery.

Redwork from the Workbasket is divided into three sections. The first section is Working on the Designs. This sections talks about Machine Embroidery Redwork and Hand Embroidery Redwork. The reader is given a list of supplies needed to participate in either one of these crafts. The second section is Redwork Projects. Her projects include Blankets, Quilts, Tote bags, Travel Pillows, Aprons, Banners, Linen Towels, Christmas Ornaments, and Table Runners. The third section is The Designs on CD-Rom. This sections gives the reader directions on how to use the CD which comes with the book.

Redwork from the Workbasket is an embroider’s dream. I personally love Redwork so I have gotten a lot of use out of this book. Kemp did an excellent job writing this treasure.
