Clare Youngs studied graphic design. Youngs is also an illustrator of books. Youngs also worte the book The Perfect Handmade Bag. She is an expert crafter and a lover of Scandinavian Design. In her book, Scandinavian Needlecraft, she entices the reader with a collection of gifts, soft furnishings, kitchen items, bags, clothes and accessories to make and embroider. Scandinavian Needlecraft contain 35 projects which are done in traditional style with the Nordic Motifs. Nordic Motifs include hearts, birds, and flowers.
Youngs teaches the reader techniques of applique, cut work, patchwork, decorate machine stitching, shadow work and ribbon work. She also gives step by step instructions for several kinds of stitches such as cross stitch, herringbone stitch, French knots, daisy stitch, and satin stitch.
Youngs gives her reader very clear instructions for the projects she teaches in Scandinavian Needlecraft. I enjoyed this book and pleased it is part of my library. I am a lover of Scandinavian Design as I am from Danish Decent.
